  • In differentiating vascular from spinal limitation on walking, consider factors associated with dissipation of pain. Symptoms of claudication remit quickly, usually after one to five minutes, regardless of body position. By contrast, persons with spinal stenosis find that pain diminishes after exercise only if the spine is flexed, and persists sometimes for hours after rest begins. [101]
  • A difficult case of claudication-like symptoms. [102]
  • Older description of parkinsonian persons who can run much easier than walk. [103]
